The Viking legend “Ragnar Lothbrok“ is said to have ruled the Vikings over a thousand years ago, taking them on epic conquests of England and France. As they raided across our lands, singing songs of Odin, Valhalla and past glories, they would have fought using colourful wooden shields. It probably wasn’t much fun for the English and French at the time, but it is pretty cool looking back at it now. We therefore thought it would be fun to make a medal in the style of one of their shields, so that we could run around the garden with it and pretend we were Vikings.
We are pretty sure the shield Ragnar used on his raids was a little bigger than our medal (only just, this is a big medal), but don’t let that stop your imagination from running wild! Speaking of running (see, there is a point to all this), get your Viking shield medal by running 5km in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
P.S. you will also need a tiny axe to really look the part.
