There is nothing quite like a British Summer – days out at the beach, ice cream vans, playing in the garden with the hosepipe, hosepipe bans, pub gardens, wasps, long hot days, sleeping on top of the bed, playing tennis, but for just 2 weeks a year – all things that make summer on this island of ours so special! So why not make the most of this glorious time of year, get the family outside and go for a walk or jog? Whether you are on holiday at the beach or the countryside, at home or abroad, we reckon this is definitely the best way to earn an ice cream this summer!
We are supporting The Makaton Charity with this event. Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols with spoken word communicate, so we have therefore featured a number of Makaton symbols on the medal and ribbon. You will also receive a guide on summer related Makaton signs and symbols in your goody bag – so as well as earning your ice cream, you can also learn additional language skills!
